Being a Ukrainian, it was very difficult to watch the events of the past four months.  The deadly violence that erupted on the streets of my native city of Kyiv didn't come as a surprise, ousted Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych was known for his brutality even before he came to power.  Once the protests grew into a nation-wide movement the bloodshed was just a matter of time.  Like any other dictator Yanukovych didn't want to part with his powers easily.

My husband and I were in Ukraine for three weeks at the end of April.   While there we wanted to find out how the people of Ukraine are coping with the tremendous upheaval in the country.   This exhibition is a result of our experiences and travels within the country.  It shows a resilient nation in a beautiful land carrying on with life while rumblings of war and conflict continue to cause tension and strife.  It also offers an insight into the everyday life of Ukraine that few foreigners ever see.
