It was one of these sessions when all the stars line up (including our somewhat unpredictable weather) and the love and beauty shines through it all. We did it in one breath. Two hours felt like twenty minutes. It was sooooo much fun!!! I think I'm falling more and more in love with photographing people who are happy together...
I'm already looking forward to our session next year!

Lindsay is a Bellydance instructor, performer and choreographer. If you've ever seen her performance, you know how incredibly talented she is.

If you asked me six months ago what my favourite type of session was, I'm not sure what my answer would be. I can't imagine it would have been Lifestyle Family Sessions. Shooting only a handful of them a year, I didn't think this is what my clients wanted...
...and then the floodgates opened...
Today Lifestyle Family Sessions are at the top of my list. I love, love, love capturing relationships. There is nothing more beautiful, meaningful and important in this world!
It's hard to believe, but both family photos in this collection were taken on the same day. The same Very Beautiful Day...
Scheduling outdoor sessions can be tricky sometimes, but images always turn out gorgeous!
I know... These images are slightly out of season, but the subject is timeless.
Loving family is the best gift you can get in life.

Her sky-coloured eyes are gazing at us with disbelief... 'You want me do what? Kiss the Frog?!! You are not serious, right?... Right?!!'
I think we should start videotaping these moments. It's just too adorable for words to describe.
Our Enchanted Forest came alive again with chatter and laughter.
Beautiful fairies playing and dancing to the sound of our little frog orchestra filled it with Magic...
Every time we have an Enchanted Forest session I think, why these children are not in movies? They are so incredibly talented!!!
You know you have the most wonderful friends in the world when they drop whatever they were doing, leave relaxing comfort of Sunday evening, phone their family and friends and run around the city trying to get the necessary parts and equipment, and then drive 130 km to come and rescue you stranded on the side of the road... We can't thank enough everyone who came to our help and everyone who offered their help!
On our way back home from Black Diamond, Alberta. Beautiful evening, gorgeous sunset, the howling wind we were fighting most of the way is finally behind us.
Then our bike starts acting up. A quick inspection leaves no doubt we have arrived...

I often think that human life has a tremendous resemblance to our planet's existence. Droughts and floods, blooming gardens and erupting volcanos, sunshine and hurricanes… it's all there. Shaping the 'landscape' of our lives. When times are good, it's easy to forget about darkness, when tragedy strikes, it's hard to remember there is light. The loss of someone you love tears your soul apart like a merciless tornado and throws it into the abyss. Anyone who has been through it knows what it's like. Picking up the pieces doesn't make you whole, it only allows you to carry on.
This is a childhood photo of my brother Leo. His tragic death at the beginning of this year left our family absolutely devastated and heartbroken.
I spent two and a half months in Ukraine trying to help my mother cope with the loss and it took me another three months to be finally able to resume my work. I wish I could find a way to express the depth of my gratitude to everyone who offered their love and support through those very difficult times... I'm so incredibly lucky to have you in my life! Please keep safe, healthy, happy and at ease. And please never hesitate to let me know if I can ever be of any help to you.
My dear Leo... Neither my soul nor my brain can accept that you are gone. I've been going through your photos every day (fortunately you didn't shy away from the camera) re-living good and bad times we went through, remembering our soul-to-soul conversations that often lasted way past midnight. Your astonishing kindness and sincerity made this world better for everyone around you. Your presence in my life was a marvellous gift. I will forever treasure every moment we had together... just as you would always do...
Iron Horse Ride has become an annual fundraising event at the RCMP Depot Division. Monies raised goes towards the Mountie House, a project to build houses for needy families in Regina. We at Free Lense Photo are proud to be a part of the event.
